This was the opening number at their 2022 live concert (second of two nights). Leading into this was a video of about 3 minutes with Jeff Foxwortny introducing the band. Note that these shows were the first time all 3 girls had performed together live.

Love this piece sung by them. They certainly have a great sound, and I do enjoy most of their works. I enjoy your analysis of the choirs as well, and think uou would really enjoy the Danish National Girls Choir. They do a great job of Nunc Dimittis, O Magnum Mysterium and Lux Aurumque. They also do less classical pieces like Blackbird. I think once you heard one or two of theirs, you might get addicted to them. Look for DR Pigekoret for the senior girls choir, DR Juniorkoret for the junior and DR Bornekoret for the children. I think anyone that admires the sound the human voice can produce, will really be taken by any of these choirs. Give them a try.

I realize that I am late to this party, but wow, what great musicians. I just discovered this group, and now I am going down the rabbit hole of their music and the covers that I grew up with. And I might have fallen in love with Ksenia, I doubt I am the only one.

An Emily Dickinson poem is the inspiration for Christopher Tin in writing this composition. It is a memorial to all the extinctions of birds and animals. The poem is entitled A Bird Came Down The Walk. The Lost Birds debuted in 2022. If you access the Voces 8 link, you can now see the complete premier. This piece is one that repays repeated listening. For me, it got easier to listen to without tearing up, and I hear more interesting things every time I come back to it.

Pretty sure he was only 22 or 23 years old when this was recorded. In his 20’s he was ridiculous. He would play above the staff, 8va, the entire song. Not as accurate or as powerful (or tasteful lol) as his later years, but crazy endurance and stamina.
